JONATHAN COLE

Jonathan is a CISI qualified associate at Berkeley Assets, with a first-class BSc Hons. He has spent 3 years within the financial industry, developing client relationships and specialising in managing accounts with high net worth individuals. Jonathan has assisted expats with all areas of their financial requirements, whilst developing his regulatory, market and industry awareness. He now works with institutional and retail clients to raise capital for Berkeley Assets globally.

Mike Clark

(Partner), UK

Mike Clark

Mike is an experienced international banker and investment professional who holds an honours degree in Banking and Finance, an ACIB professional qualification and an MBA in Finance from City University Business School in London.  

He has held a range of senior executive positions in high quality international banks in London, including HSBC, Saudi International Bank, Yamaichi Bank, Arab Bank and most recently, as CEO of QIB UK from 2007 to 2013.   Mike is currently engaged in a range of business advisory, real estate, business mediation and corporate finance activities in London, and he continues to develop his long track record of building businesses and successful major investments and acquisitions.

Ash Shah

Ash Shah

Ash qualified as a chartered accountant in 1992 (ACA) and is now a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) in England and Wales, from where he operates.

He joined the corporate and international tax division of Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers – PwC), in 1990.  He went on to join Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group in 1998, where he has been their Tax Director since 2005, advising on all corporate tax and international tax issues including Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), mergers and acquisitions, group re-structuring, controlled foreign corporations (CFC) and transfer pricing. Ash has also helped the Virgin Group to develop its tax strategy and risk management approach and has assisted in the resolution of UK and international tax disputes as well as managing global compliance.

Ash provides ongoing strategic advice to Berkeley and is a capital investor within the company.

Omar Jackson

(Partner), Dubai and UK

Omar Jackson

Omar is a Partner at Berkeley Assets and Director of Cryptech, a Berkeley Assets owned Blockchain technology business. Omar oversees all opportunities to maximize the potential of their diversified portfolio on behalf of investors and institutions.

He has set up and run numerous successful businesses in the UK and the Middle East, sourcing investment for start-ups and acting on behalf of a portfolio of clients. He is responsible for leading a transformational change within the organisation towards a goal of making private equity more accessible and transparent. He uses his in-depth knowledge of the industry to recognise trends and spikes in demand to identify opportunities in the market.

Sohale Rahman

(Partner), UK

Sohale Rahman

Sohale has spent much of his career working with private clients as a business consultant, gaining vast experience in asset management, dispute resolution, investment, financing and construction. Sohale’s current clients and contracts include high-net-worth individuals from East Africa, USA and the Middle East, including the Saudi royal family.

He has specialist knowledge of the real estate sector, in particular, the serviced apartment sector in the UK and mainland Europe, where he has worked on developing alternative income generating solutions. He has also been involved in securing a design project in Portugal for one of Europe’s largest real estate developments.

Sohale is integral in sourcing, developing and managing Berkeley’s real estate portfolio in the UK and is also an investor in the business. He has specialist knowledge of the real estate sector.

Justin Quan

(Vice President), Dubai

Justin Quan

Justin is a practising chartered accountant in the UK and the UAE and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Justin previously trained with Dixon Wilson, a leading chartered accounting firm in the UK where he advised high net worth individuals and corporate entities on tax-efficient capital raising strategies for early stage seed investment.

He dealt with institutional deal origination and international tax advisory frameworks during his time with Berkeley’s London team. He now assists in developing Berkeley’s operational corporate strategy, with a focus on retail clients.
